Minimalist MODOKS March Onward.

Alright, alright...
I've gotten a little carried away with the color and photoshop work in my past few submissions.
Please forgive my most egregious error on that front, and chalk it up to my fervor for some March MODOK Madness.  As for this one, I'm pretty happy with the finish on it.  Feel like I'm getting a better feeling for the push and pull of lights and darks between the Sharpies, and the white out pen effects.  I'm also realizing that I've been drawing his face a little oddly here of late (too small) and I'm aiming to spread the features out more.

Hope you all dig and Keep up the MINDBLASTS over these last ten days of MARCH!

Submitted MODOK: Filipe Homem Fonseca

This maniacal little MODOK hails from the talented Filipe, his fifth submission over the years! Check out more of him on Twitter!

Thanks, Filipe, for your continued loyalty to the big headed one!

Submitted MODOK: John Douglas

John Douglas loves to make some MODOK artwork during the month of March.  Here he discusses his THIRD (yep Three so far this year) contribution to our 2018 celebration.
Greetings!  :-)
It's another submission to March M.O.D.O.K. Madness--I'm practically spamming you guys!
Anyhoo, this time around, it is a parody of the Maxell tape ads from way back in the day.  Way, way back in the day.  Y'know, audio tape?  Anyone?  Holy cow, I'm old.  Sigh...

Well, there are two more weeks left, so hopefully that will mean at least one more submission...  maybe even two (fingers crossed)!

My usual shameless propaganda: johndouglasart.blogspot.com
This post makes me wonder what other vintage advertising MODOK might fit right into. Hummm, I need to go get a pen and some paper.

Make sure all your cubes are cosmic.

MODOK Meltdown!

Hello All!

Not entirely sure what MODOK was watching here on the view monitor at A.I.M. HQ.  But, it's left him in a pretty intensely bad mood.  Guess he's gonna try to wind down now while watching some old footage from that one time he Mindblasted Avengers HQ. I'm pretty sure I heard him muttering something about "What's purple dude got that I don't? Some silly gauntlet?"

March to the tune of your Mindblast!

Submitted MODOK: Scott Hot

From deep within the mind of Scott comes this image of a mighty menacing mental organism. He writes,
Here is my submission for the magnificent madness of Modok March.
Scott Hot also makes twisted little cartoons over at http://www.scottsmind.com/.

Many thanks for the support from Scott and our awesome contributors.
Keep the MODOK love strong in yer hearts, and drawn in yer notebooks.

Submitted MODOK: MOTHbot

The masterful MOTHbot visited our ol' inbox with his second post of the 2018 season.
He submitted this cylindrical shaped cranky type mental organism with the caption,
This angry little MODOK does not want to be touched.
So don't touch him people, MODOK is best admired from a distance. Preferably behind some kind of protective barrier or other Mindblast resistant surface, maybe Vibranium?

Be sure to check out more of MOTHbot over at mothbot.deviantart.com/.

MODOK Reeks Havoc.

Will probably have a Guinness while I'm at it. Be sure to travel safe, and party responsibly.

Beware the Mindblasts most foul.

Morning MODOK w/ some chroma.

Happy Sunday Morning to you all!

Well, I put color on this MODOK.
Yeah I know, I was trying to keep it a year of inkwork and halftones.
But, I couldn't resist it anylonger.

I've learned that I like making MODOK colorful.  So, much like the other posts this year it's felt tip pens on scrap glossy paper.  But I had a colored pen handy for the lines in the figure.  Threw a few layers in Photoshop over top of that.  Hope you dig it!

May all your March have Mindblasts,

Click for a better view.
Hey MODOK fans!
Repeated contributor Mr. Douglas skipped leg day in order to bring out the big guns (I mean biceps here), and sent us this slick page layout. He writes,
Here's another submission to March Modok Madness 2018!  In this case, it's a team-up of two Kirby creations Devil Dinosaur and M.O.D.O.K.!
As usual you can find more work from John over at johndouglasart.blogspot.com.

So take a few minutes to do that, and maybe draw a MODOK of your own to share with us.
Well keep the Mindblasts on for ya,

Midday MODOK Mindblast!

I'm keeping them color free still! Hard to fight the urge to get in there and render stuff out more, but happy with the basic linework and halftones.  Like my other postst this is on a bit of scrap glossy paper drawn with some felt tip markers, and a nice rolling writer pen.  Really fun to explore mark making, and keen on getting better at inking and finish on these drawings.

Submitted MODOK: Tom Clifford

Being a long time contributor to the blog, Mr. Clifford instinctively heard the siren call of the month and got busy with the MODOK artwork.

Here we see a mental organism flexing some sub-atomic dance moves whilst sporting some damn fine slacks and sleeves!

March is kicking right along and there is still so much MORE MODOK out there to celebrate.
Big thanks to Tom for keeping the hustle alive here.
